Setting Up WordPress Site

So while the domain transfer takes 7 days to move to the Godaddy we still had options to go ahead and setup wordpress.

Luckily, WordPress is very easy to install and with Godaddy App Installation options in the cpanel it made it really easy to install wordpress and setup the website. (Will share the steps and video on this if possible)

However while we were working on the Live WordPress site we also learnt a need for a test site or a staging site and when we tried to install another wordpress site we learnt that the GoDaddy Linux Starter Package Asia the cheapest one comes only with 1 database. Hence you cannot have a second installation of WordPress or rather any other CMS on a different URL or on a sub-domain.

Since currently it isnt an priority and also not much required test site we skipped this idea of having a second website installed and moved on to setting up a Theme.

Domain Name Transfer - Looking for new Domain Registrar and Hosting Provider?

So our Web Hosting and Domain Manager Freelancer since 2006 came to a decision to stop providing any more assistance on these digital services because its not beneficial to none of us.

Main reason is because of the increasing competition in companies that are providing these service on large scale such as BigRock & Godaddy and making it cheaper at initial stage to win the customer.

Hence we started researching where we should move our domain and web hosting service and below is the comparison between

Stage 1
We noticed the offers on Domain Name Transfer which were as follows -

BigRock's Domain Transfer mentioned the following on 2 different pages
1) FREE! 1 Year Extension Included
2) Get 15% Off and a 1 Year Free Extension

GoDaddy's Domain Transfer mentioned - Includes the time you have left on your domain registration plus one year†

Stage 2

We checked and compared Starter Linux Hosting Package & Price.

As on 21-06-2017 to a New Customer without COUPON CODE
Year/s	1 Year 2 Years 3 Years 4 Years
Company	BigRock	GoDaddy	BigRock	GoDaddy	BigRock	Godaddy	BigRock	Godaddy
Domain Transfer	499	499	-	-	-	-	-	-
Web Hosting	2388	1788	4555	3096	5364	3564	8940	5940
Tax	433	335.55	683	531.75	879	601.95	1416	958.35
Total	3320	2622.55	5737	4126.75	6742	4664.95	10855	7397.35

After the Price we compared the web hosting package

Web Hosting Comparision Linux Starter Plan on Shared Hosting
Items	Big Rock	Godaddy
Domain/Site	1 Website	1 Website
Storage	20 GB	30 GB
Bandwidth	100 GB	Unmetered

So clearly reviewing the package & price Godaddy is a clear winner.

Stage 3

Total Cost of Domain and Web Hosting as a Package for variant tenures.

From the above Big Rock and Godaddy comparison table is easier to understand what suits your need and is in within your budget.

Stage 4

After Sales service which I have notice GoDaddy Support is available 24/7 while BigRock Support has a limited hrs of availability.

Other 2 things that I would like you to know and maybe consider before you buy these domain and web hosting services in India is that you might have additional coupon codes and lastly consider the renewal cost because maybe the renewal cost might be high.
